Intertarsal

Inversion (Supination)

Turning the foot medially resulting in the sole moving inward.
 

Eversion (Pronation)

Turning the foot latererally resulting ing the sole moving outward.
  • Peroneus longus
  • Peroneus brevis
  • Peroneus tertius
 

Plantar Flexion

Extension of the foot resulting in the forefoot moving away from the body.
  • Peroneus longus
  • Tibialis posterior
  • Abductor hallucis
  • Abductor digiti minimi
  • Flexor digitorum brevis
  • Peroneus brevis

Notes

Eversion and inversion of the Intertarsals occur mainly at the transverse tarsal and subtalar joints. Metatarsophalangeal can circumduct. Also see Ankle and Toes.
