Bring your strongest effort to the field, court, or mat. Strength for Sports Performance provides the tools to build a program for your needs, your sport, and your goals.
Through a series of self-assessments, you will identify areas of improvement and establish a baseline for your training regimen. Then, incorporate functional strength exercises designed for the movement patterns, muscle contractions, and energy demands of a variety of sports. In addition, learn to include nonstandard equipment exercises, using items such as chains and tires, to complement your standard program with variable and dynamic resistance training.
Sample training programs may also be customized to your sports seasonal workout schedule and position demands. Best of all, these programs and workouts may be printed from the DVD, so you can take instruction directly into the gym. Developed by Allen Hedrick, the head strength and conditioning coach at the United States Air Force Academy, the Strength for Sports Performance DVD will help you maximize training time for peak performance in competition.
