Instructions
Preparation
- Lie supine on bench with leg extended beyond edge of bench
(less than half of thigh on bench). Bring other knee of other
leg to chest.
Execution
- Pull thigh down with hands until low back touches testing
surface. Repeat on opposite leg.
Measurement
- Lower thigh should remain on table. If lower thigh lifts
off table while low back contacts table, a tight Iliopsoas is
indicated.
Comments
- Thigh should be pulled into chest just enough to have low
back contact bench. A false positive may occur if pelvis posteriorly
rotates beyond what is nessecary to have low back contact testing
surface.
