Re: Dog mom still here

Well no I have not been to the gym since the last post but I am back here, doesn't that count for something??? Actually I am starting with some things I can do at my business (it is a gym, just for dogs though). My plan is to resume work on getting low in my squat (no leg pain anymore) and doing som...

Re: TimD

Now that I am back I just saw this. Very sad, I kind of have a pit in my stomach now. He always had great advice for me and provided much encouragement. Perhaps I can pay it back by continuing with my lifting goals.

Re: Dog mom still here

Anyone want to lay odds that she doesn't come back? Can I get some of the money :green: Are we pointing out DM because she made this thread, because countless folks seem gung ho and then dissapear? I imagine it could be frustration due to lack of mobility/pain from squatting combined with stalling ...

Dog mom still here

Just want to let everyone know I am still here. Have not worked out in 2 weeks because we are having major construction issues and I have had to be onsite 12-14 hours a day. Didn't want you to think I was just a passerby. I will be back when the literal dust settles.

Re: Diana Videos

Doc Wrote: In your supported "third-world" squats, you are reaching way out to the sides to support yourself. That's forcing your scapulae apart, rather than together. Squat in front of a single support, like just one post of the rack, so your hands are together. Then concentrate on pulling the sca...

Re: Diana Videos

-What if anything do you do for you abs/anterior core? -related to last point, have you tried Goblet squats? I do planks now and then. I always heard crunches were bad so I am not sure what else to do? RE Goblet Squats: I can only do 40# with goblet squats so I stopped unable to progress due to lim...

Re: Slow progression

Thanks! Can you get into a deep squat position whilst lying on your back? For example, lay down on your back, put one arm under your lower back (to create a nice arch, like you want when you squat), then with the other hand, grab one of your knees and lift it towards your chest. Then try the other k...

Re: Slow progression

Did you ever try body weight squats ass to the grass? alost like putting your ass on the top of your calves? Do you have a problem with flexibility or is it strength? Or fear? This is the exercise I have been trying to master. I don't think it is fear I fall back and have to hold onto the rack, I c...

Re: Slow progression

Sorry, Diane, if this is thread hijack! If anyone wants to pursue this, we can make a new thread. I actually had the same question. I never mind hijacking I am always up for a good learn! Good discussions are never linear. Have you ever tried a will sit with ten lbs on your lap for maybe a few less...

Re: Slow progression

It actually could be a lot of things. You could simply not be trying as hard as you did when you started. I think most people get lazy in the effort on the aux work (I'm no exception). Please don't take my lack of posts lately to mean I am not as dedicated. I am. I still workout very hard and remai...

Slow progression

The whole idea of adding a small amount of weight with the strong lifts makes so much sense. It seems to me this idea should work with almost any exercise and not just the big lifts. That thought leaves me wondering why wall sits and my complexes aren’t getting any easier? Not that I mind I just fig...
