Re: Think I've got two limitations maybe holding back my pre

For pressing out of a rack, I think it's fine to hold the bar in your hands. Having it in the "rack" position means you have to shift your grip as you start the press. I'd set up with the bar a bit lower than where it will be in your grip, then just "squat" it off of the hooks. Makes sense, resting...

Re: Not training to failure

This is something that Pavel Tsatsouline is big on with his whole 'grease the groove' method and all that. Stopping short of extreme fatigue so you recover to full strength faster and can do multiple lower-rep sets or train daily. I'm not sure if this is the 'right direction' or not, but it is an ad...

Re: Lever Seated Reverse Fly Variations, recently pink-modif

I apologise, I didn't see those questions because I couldn't be bothered to read an essay about what is possibly the most boring thread topic I have ever seen. Well, that's why threads have titles, so you can avoid the topics that bore you. I appreciate you making the effort to open and read the th...

Re: My aching glutes

Actually, narrower stance and knees going more forward tend to go together. I'd love to be able to get deep in these, but I think I need to stretch the soleus a lot or something. I guess the problem is when I do a lot of dorsi flexion, the stress I feel is at the front and not the back of the ankle...

Re: Scooby's Bodybuilding / Bulking and Cutting

What's everyone's opinion on the advice given by Scooby Werkstatt? I enjoy his videos, he makes good points about a lot of movements. Can't comment on diet as I'm pretty ignorant about that, though his seems to be working out for him. I dont see any deadlifting or squats in his routines He does som...

Re: I am having weakness/sore/tenderness in wrist extensors.

I am wondering, if we do "reverse" wrist curls (wrist extensions) would this strengthen these muscles and help them to rest?

I am not sure how to do them comfortable, should probably try with barbell, feels weird and unstable with dumbbells.

Re: has anyone ever tried this before? wrist push ups

I've done them on my knees and stuff, it's pretty uncomfortable. I like the toughness appeal, but I'm pretty worried about how to take care of wrist health so I'd want to find a way to balance out the stresses in this unique variation.

Re:

Pullups are normally reffering to your hands being in a pronated position whereas chinups your hands are in a supinated position. Check them out in the muscle exercise directory for form and muscles involved etc. If you check out the ExRx directory, this is not at all how they are defined. Chin htt...

Re: not another thread about Bench Press feet up vs down

I guess the question is, perfect for what purpose? He's not setting lifting records, but he is knocking people out, so perhaps benching this way is okay if you're doing the higher-rep approach to build endurance for punching that some do. The sides to exercise other than powerlifting/bodybuilding, b...

Re: Lever Seated Reverse Fly Variations, recently pink-modif

I think you're finding out that the number of people on here who want to discuss grip variations on selectorized real-delt machines isn't that high. Start a thread on deadlift grip variations and you'll get a bit more feedback I bet. :) I guess I just don't understand why people respond to threads ...

Re: not another thread about Bench Press feet up vs down

GSP benches with his feet on the bench instead of the ground. Doesn't seem to have made him unstable or a weak pusher. How is he any more stable than anyone else with their feet on the bench (whoever he is)? How does he get stable? A wider bench? Special foot rests? If he's someone famous, and he b...

Re: Lower body pull

The argument about push/pull is oversimplification anyway. The deadlift does involve pushing components like a squat, but it also involves levering components for the hips like a good morning, so yeah.
