Ah that doesn't like quite as crazy as I was imagining before - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZlodHgCipk but yeah I was only up to 25 bbs I think before. Now I'm back to no weight when I switched to strict 90 seconds rest - brutal - hopefully can be that guy with the step some day.

About 80% of your work is upper-body - seems quite out of whack if that's you're whole exercise regiment.

I wouldn't consider doing a real squat without a rack - just seems for too dangerous.

I've been quite happy with Bulgarians. KPj, do you mean the back leg was on a bench -and- the front leg was on a step? I'm not sure I'm flexible enough to pull that off with full ROM.

Well, either it allowed her to see through the little silver panels on the scratch-off, gain clairvoyance, or more likely Jack3d may have frightening psychotropic side-effects.

We don't even have to speak hypothetically. There ARE libertarians, who hold that opinion. They themselves would never get an abortion and/or be party to it. However they do not favor criminalization. Agreed, and it's perfectly reasonable for a libertarian to not criminalize abortion. I also think ...

Yeah, I've seen the Edward/Jacob Burger King commercials. I choose neither because the BK fries are full of hydrogenated soybean oil. Also, "arguing" implies you're trying to convince another party to change their mind. Generally I wouldn't attempt that on the internet, and would not characterize my...

Frogbyte, No need to drag your political issues with Ironman into every thread in the Lounge.. :argue: Pfft - that was not a political statement. Ironman's confrontations with users in the non-political threads are just as emblematic of that bumper sticker. I'm not a bumper sticker fan, really, but...

To the original question, I certainly feel knee curls in a lower spot than RDLs. However I just spent a few minutes actually feeling the muscles in http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/Hamstrings.html along both movements - it seems to be a difference in the degree of shortening, that causes them to feel so ...

Leg extensions are hell on the knees. I believe I mentioned previously that I believe the leg extension machine, when used as designed, is probably the most harmful/dangerous thing in your typical gym.

Calf raises impose essentially zero torque/strain on the knee, unless you're cheating.

I'm in the same boat there as well - no rack for doing real squats, so I under-trained that movement for a long time. Lunges and step ups just don't go deep enough. It wasn't until I started on http://strength-basics.blogspot.com/2009/02/bulgarian-split-squats.html that I really began hitting that d...

Without someone watching every lift, it's extremely difficult (for me anyway) to know that I was doing the deadlift with all hamstrings/back like he is.
