Re: Caloric Intake/Cutting

Calories do matter - part of the reason I rarely read this site is the polarized views on it. Low carb, as much fat as you want? Yeah right. I could throw down 5000 calories worth of protein and fat every day and I guarantee I'd put on pounds upon pounds of fat. Carbs are not bad, fat beyond 90-100g...

Re: Paleo and grains

Grains are not bad for you, it's alarmist bull$h1t.

Obviously the less processed the foods, the better - but I could eat a pound of candy a day, still get to below 12% bodyfat and have perfect health markers.

IIFYM (If it fits your macros)

Re: workout "window"

Fred Hatfield always said that the period after a workout was to allow for growth hormones to do their stuff. Ingesting carbs in that period killed the effect. You have to try to find what works for you. Growth hormone is heavily overestimated when it comes to it's effect on protein synthesis. Prot...

Re: Machine Row/Rear Delt

Rear delt machines are actually probably better for rear delt development/strength than DB rows, because most people don't do rear delt rows properly. Also, strength can and will be developed on machines in the same way that free weights would do. It's silly machoism to believe that 'machines are ba...

Re: Filling out - any advice?

Why did you crop out the girl in that last picture? Not my place to post another person's picture on the internet. :) Nice answer, +1 internet coolness gained. I was wondering, does the loose skin 'tighten up' over time? And what if a person looses a lot of weight, but over a long time, has he got ...

I'd blame it on my tan.

Also, once you start getting in to lower body fat percentages, you really start to lose a lot of fat on your face - makes your jaw line/cheek bones sharper i feel like.

Re: Filling out - any advice?

I just wonder how you lost 100lbs without having much loose skin.... My skin is considerably worse. He was probably younger than you when he did it and therefore better elasticity. There could be nutritional differences as well, and therefore healthier collagen. This is my guess, it's gotten better...

Re: Filling out - any advice?

haha appreciate it - I do my best, I was about 205lbs in that last pic at 5'9". I'm cutting for the summer and would like to be about 210lbs when i finish at that body fat level.

I don't know how people diet down for bodybuilding shows - I don't have the willpower to resist food that long haha.

Re: Filling out - any advice?

As a former fat kid who also had loose skin/had to fill out, the thing I would recommend the most is consistency in weight training. To give you some examples on how I transitioned over 3 years of weight training as a natural (I did take a $h1t ton of stimulants/pre-workouts, only thing that kept me...

A low carb diet is a bad idea for anyone wanting to build muscle.

Protein synthesis is less likely to happen without full skeletal muscle glycogen.

If you were referring to what I think you were referring.
