Re: Leg Drive (I Believe!)

I think one of the reason is that muscle contraction on somewhere else on your body reinforces the working muscle(s)'s force output. If you open a bottle that has been screwed too tight, you'll notice that your whole body contracts. Why?

Pavel Tsatsouline often talks about this issue I believe.

Re: clean and press extra movements?

On that vid, the bouncing at the end of the (power) clean is from the upward momentum especially when the weight used is light and you shrug it up at the end. His are indeed a bit exaggerated but it's fine (in comps the barbell must be jerked/pressed from a dead stop). You certainly can use push pre...

Re: clean and press extra movements?

i often see right after the clean movement a lot of extraneous knee bends and otherwise bouncing movements. this is prior to progressing into the push press. do these serve any function? Could you give an example (a vid or something)? in fact, couldn't you just use the last part of the clean moveme...

Eggs. Lol.

I also like to eat brain, squids, and organs (meat). My father who have had a heart attack once abhors them absolutely now.

How much cholesterol do we need per day?

Especially for us who exercise regularly (it may still be the same but I dunno). I've been reading that cholesterol consumption has no relation to blood cholesterol level but people who have fears from consuming "too much" cholesterol still say that because we don't need to consume it in a great amo...

Re: Nootropics

I'm in the process of making myself to be able to sleep better and longer in the night because my sleep pattern isn't the best. Anyway here's the T-Nation thread I talked about: http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/diet_performance_nutrition_supplements/brain_function_boosters_30 PS: I'm no...

Re: Nootropics

Well, it's because that continuing thread on T-Nation that introduced my to this thing, lol. Also, apparently a lot of people have taken nootropics with little side effects (the drugs themselves are stated to be very mild). I certainly can use "brain boosters" because I want to improve my ability in...

Nootropics

Has anybody tried nootropics to improve brain function? I think I'd like to try using Piracetam for some time but it would be nice to hear some opinion/experience about this first!

Re: Adding Volume, Goal to Get Stronger

What he's saying is that people in all weight classes use (or abuse, depending on your view) performance enhancing drugs. My point is, and was, it isn't the drugs that allow bodybuilders to train bodyparts twice in a 6 day period that powerlifters have to train every 7 or more days. They are both o...

Re: Adding Volume, Goal to Get Stronger

(You are deluding yourself if you think they aren't all on the same amounts of the same types of AAS.) Well, this may be true for those in the superheavy class (powerlifters and olympic lifters) but I think those who have to stay in their respective weight limit have to be more selective in selecti...

Re: Balance, weight distribution during squats

The problem is I absolutely cannot get 'heel drive' when i try the powerlifting squat nor can I get my center of gravity to stay between my heel and the balls of my feet on the bodybuilder squat. No matter what i do my weight shifts onto the balls of my feet and sometimes my toes. I also have a lot...

Re: Questions about push/pull balancing

that's because they balance their push/pull hehehe Actually, it was anecdotal evidence that serves as a ground when I said that pulling from the floor (like deadlift) might be enough to balance the horizontal push. True that they also do upper body pulls but it's mostly limited to pulldowns. I thin...
