Re: Pull Up Training

Well general progression of back muscles and arms are getting me there, as they were and still are my weaknessess, especially arms. I started to work out more seriously and with something to achieve. I'm not yet at ten, but I'll achieve it not far from here. I did'nt have a special chin-up program, ...

Re: Where you been, where you are, where you going, ....

I remember when… I couldn't do a single chin-up a year back. Not even half a chin-up. I was excited when… I could deadlift 150kg(around 330 pounds.) almost a year back also. One day soon, I’ll Get 10 consecutive chin-ups I can’t wait for the day I Can look back to this day and see how I've improved....

Re: Messing with my program

Actually I was mainly referring to the progression results overall, also on chin-ups and upright rows. I noticed that I had crammed my program too full, hence the alterning between these moves. I still think there will be progress on both of the moves, since I'm doing quite lot of bicep, back and sh...

Re: Messing with my program

Now after I've been trying this modified program for a week, I was thinking about some changes. I've come to feel that especially the Press/Upright Row/Chin-ups combination is a bit too heavy, even with quite the small weights on the row. As I'm not that good in chin-ups, it tends to get too hard af...

Re: Yet Another "Best Assistance" Question

I would put some work for hamstrings and back muscles. Maybe good mornings or straight leg-deadlifts? On the other hand, it looks like you're totally working your legs(quads especially) and back already, so maybe something involving your abs and traps instead? You need them all with squats and deadl...

Re: Messing with my program

Thanks to everyone about sharing their word. Every comment makes me think a bit further and improve this program until it fully works, and beyond also. Take note that this is the first program I've even tried to make, even it's just a modification. I'm heading to become a personal trainer, so the so...

Re: Beginner - Program Advice and Help.

First thing that popped into my eyes, was the list of your postural conditions. "Winged scapula, protruding head, rounded shoulders, slight pelvic tilt and pronated feet, Also have lower back condition." Now that's a pretty impressive list, doesn't sound like a personal trainer or even less like som...

Re: Messing with my program

I think we derailed a bit from the original idea. I was not going to go straightforward superheavy with this program. I simply mentioned I might change the 5x5 to 3x5 when the weights get to maximal strenght training. That'll be weeks ahead. Looking at this planning, it will get there at week 7 or 8...

Re: Messing with my program

I did some thinking before I started to change program, and understood completely what StrongLifts is doing in the beginning. I know it's about forming the right technique and such. And I was okay with it for a week and the second. But at the same time I'm quite confident my form is pretty good and ...

Re: Messing with my program

Starting week 4. So I've been still doing the easy part. I know it will be hell soon, but I think I could survive with this kind of method, and also have thought to reduce the amount of sets when the rest and recover gets longer.

Re: Height Gaining Training

You're not even 18 yet. It's still very likely that you will gain few more cm's during your years. At least it's not impossible. Being shorter than the average isn't a thing to be ashamed of anyway. Don't stress about it. You can always compensate it with huge muscles, atleast that seems to be the f...

Messing with my program

Since I started the Stronglifts program I've had my doubts about it. I feel that it's not enough, and I feel like I should add some assisting work around the program. Someone here adviced me to modify the SL to make my goals meet. So I came to think about it, and this is the result. I've noticed tha...

Re: What defines a bad workout day

To me, there's just this feeling I get before I work out. It's a feeling of tiresome and somehow demotivation. Like I shouldn't just hit the gym at all. Sometimes I'm wrong afterall, and I just work it off during the sets. The good feeling often returns if I just start working and not think about it...

Re: preformance enhancers? fat burners? supplements? etc.

I would suggest the same thing I was suggested when asking about protein supplements: Look and make a food diary or something like that, check what you are eating, maybe count some calories and proteins if possible. When I don't know what you are eating, it's very hard to tell if you need any protei...

Re: A bit of a rant on Stronglifts

It has been two weeks since I began the SL program, and was already sceptic about the whole issue. I think it's very personal how this stuff works. I have always thought it was obvious that you can't go on with the same program for several months. Atleast my mind needs something new and different ev...
