I use a pair of Puma motorsport shoes because they have a solid rubber sole (presumably for pedal feel when driving), but I like them because the solid sole won't break due to above-normal stresses due to squatting. Many of the complex sole (esp. with compartments of air for running or whatever) con...

This is important, I love working out, that's why I'm bigger than any of my roommates (well that and a genetic predisposition to be bigger (I am at least 4 inches taller than any of them...)).

Been a while since I've been able to add a new PB, but I have two for today:

Squat- 315lbs (1RM)
Deadlift- 335lbs (1RM)

Set the bar pretty high for myself for the coming weeks, my short term goals are (maybe by end of summer, realistic?):

Squat- 365lbs
Deadlift- 405lbs

The point of weight training for hypertrophy or strength is to overload the muscle. More advanced lifters need more than one set to overload their muscles because of the base of strength they already has. I guess the point I want to make is that there is a difference between overload and train... I ...

I'd add deadlift to your oly lifting day, it seems a bit slight as it is. Also, no shrugging...? Jump shrugs, hang shrugs, or just normal shrugs could each improve the workout I think. In general though it looks great.

Today I tried some dunking on my family's hoop. Without knowing what height I was dunking on, I worked my way up to 9'5", which is worse than what I thought I could do, but has so far served as motivation to hit the gym hard tomorrow. I'm also adding jump squats to my squat rountine (sets of 10 with...

Went for a short bike ride today, maybe 5.5 miles in sum. I went with my mom, and she had to rest about the 3 mile mark, I think we're going to try to ride again some time.

I'm sure that's what you meant. Thanks for the additions! Also, it should be mentioned that AMRAP is also referred to as 'taking a set to failure' or just, 'to failure'. So:

Failure = As many reps as possible

Well I agree that long run you should mix it up, but only taking 4-6 week segments as blocks, not every workout. That said, I have been convinced that one arm work is better in this area because it supposedly activates your core whatever that means. The problem is breathing with the other (probably ...
