Bench press will stress your triceps, for sure, but it doesn't mean that you can ignore your triceps. Chins will stress your biceps; you still have to do curls. What it all means is that you should not work out a bodypart so much, either directly or indirectly, so that it never gets time to recupera...

I found out that while standing, I had been favoring my left shoulder too much. So by doing DB presses sitting, it's a level playing field.

Sitting DB presses

Something I figured out this morning in the gym. When I do DB presses, I used to do them standing up, from warm-up to finish. Now when I start pressing 80 lbs. and over, I sit down, because I found out that I had been favoring my left arm too much, i.e., I did 4 reps with 85 lbs. right-handed, and c...

I don't see too many people eating half of a hamburger at a time. (A doctor told me once to split a burger, because it's too much protein to eat at once.)

I'd say I eat 40 g of protein at a meal. Unless it's steak or something, in which case who cares how much protein it is, it tastes good!

Sounds like a good breakfast. I've also started waking up early to get a workout in. I only have to wake up 1 hour earlier. I'm not a morning person, but I'm surprised at how much I benefit from an early workout. So now, my day ends at 5 p.m. If I want to do some stationary bike or additional ab wor...

Before a workout I like oatmeal, after a workout something with lots of protein; a regular meal. I mean if I have a hamburger 2 hours before a workout, it's not enough time for me to digest it or have that hamburger turn into usuable energy. I.e., I'm belching it up. So I prefer complex carbs before...

I get my whey protein from GNC using my Gold Card. I buy my multi-vitamins and fiber at the local health food store.

You don't need either, so the question of which one is worse for you is moot. A sweet potato is "better" for you than a regular potato because it has more nutrients--period. If you want to blow off some steam after a hard week at work with some pot or a drink, go ahead--just don't think you're doing...

Was the original question, "Will alcohol and pot affect my weight training?"

I usually favor the large muscles first...or the muscle I feel like working out first. The good thing about working out is that it varies.

Try this (side lats)

I've been using the same weight DB's when doing shoulder lateral raises for a long time. Last week I nearly doubled the weight, kinda threw the weights up (i.e., cheated), and let them down slowly. Invigorating! (Cleared my sinuses; that ever happen to you?) But my shoulders look more massive as a r...

Different drugs for different purposes, as they say. So have fun, but don't get behind the wheel of a car when you're messed up. Common sense should prevail. The grass we smoked in my day was 100X less strong than the yuppie pot going around nowadays. Dang! How high do you have to get? As for alcoho...
