In the words of Dave Chapelle, "I'm back bitches!" Been a year since I posted last. Anyway, I use gloves only on two exercises: Stiff-Leg Deadlifts and tricep pushdowns. I like them on deadlifts because they help make a very comfortable hook grip. They have come in real handy when I had various cuts...

I found the biceps to be way too easy to go overboard with. I noticed bigger gains when I reduced it to 2 sets of DB incline curls, and not on the same day I do cable pulldowns.

It's funny, I used to tweak something in between my scapula and torso whenever I did DB front raises, but only on the right side, so I cut them out. To this day I don't know what it was. It would crack, and then burn. Probably different prob than posted, but worth a mention. Anything/exercise in par...

Thursday Well, a few tablets of a generic senneside natural laxative (think senekot) have helped a lot. Yeah, gotta be from the pain killers. I also point out this event because of a word of caution. I have heard horror stories of people ending up back in the hospital after using strong laxatives (e...

It's now day 3 and alternating Motrin with the painkillers seems to help with the pain and inflammation.

Hi Tim! Yeah, from what everyone was telling me, I would recover quickly. Some people evern said they were able to work the next day. I guess this one is just in the wrong spot because I'm pretty much incapacitated. I can barely move my left leg without much pain. They put in a plug in the hole, and...

Hey fellas, I had my surgery on Friday. OMG I'm in a lot of pain. And I know pain (scoliosis herrington rod surgery, kidney stones). Anyway, I'll keep this topic updated. Hopefully it'll document for someone else a good idea of how long it takes to recover. If you mod guys wanna move it over the the...

Yes Jeff, good luck, and thanks Tim for the advice. Both doctors said it is a hernia for sure... I guess I will listen to my body and inch back into it as you say. But what about 'activities'? I honestly feel they aggrevate the hernia more than lifting or anything else (except maybe going to the bat...

(I am trying to encourage you by telling you that) I have always found that after each notable layoff, I have recovered faster and faster each time. It seems to be what some refer to as the muscle memory. I mean, if I lifted it before, my brain knows exactly how much effort is entailed. Look at incl...

Yeah, My strong core should've helped...

I swear to God the thing that probably pushed it over the edge was my sudden recent increase in 'activities.'

Hernia!!

Well guys, the stuff has hit the fan. My Grandpa had it, and my father had TWO. I have a left inguinal hernia, I saw two doctors; I have surgery on the 15th of September. How long should I be out of work? (light workshop type stuff on my feet) How long should I be off my feet? How long should I be o...

You have to look up the weight of the sled itself based on the manufactorer. For instance the 45 degree sled leg press machine at my old gym was 115 pounds, now the one I use is 140 pounds.

They aren't going to really be equal in anything, they are three different exercises with their own quirks.
