Topic: is there such a thing as to much cardio?

Lifting weights will burn more calories faster than cardio. When I used to do a ridiculous amount of cardio on the track team, I lost 25 pounds in what seemed like a month. I had even better results doing a very high amount of lifting, losing twice as fast. But I had a stricter diet. I guess my poin...

You know it's funny, I also have been feeling more sore on the second day since I started my latest workout routine after a break. But it's been a while now, and I still have that effect. I didn't use to feel this effect at all, it used to be the day after lifting I'd be a little sore, then the seco...

Nope, hamstring is always gonna be third after quads and glutes on the leg press.

Stick with deadlifts and leg curls.

When I ran track I was a distance runner, pole vaulter, and sprinter. We warmed up with a 3/4 mile run, stretched, ran for two miles, and then conditioned by doing, say, 20 quarter mile sprints. Then ended with a mile run. You better believe we lost fat! You should be able to do the sprints before a...

He's right, it worked for me. You'll see that you'll want to split things up once you get the weights high.

The whole point to slpitting it four ways is to reduce fatigue of synergists and be in the gym for a short period of time. Sounds like a lot of sets, and lots of overkill there. With a four way split you should be in the gym for 40 minutes to an hour. I believe and have practiced the low volume, pro...

Also you must be aware of form. For many people such as myself, letting the bar actually hit the chest on flat bench strains the shoulders since it goes beyond natural range of motion. In a similiar fashion, incline bench should involve letting the bar down to about the forehead and no further. That...

I stretch every muscle group after every workout at the gym. It only takes 5-10 minutes, and that's all you need for flexibility. It's easy when your muscles are so warmed up.

Hi! You have found a great forum, welcome. Workout 1: You do realize the hanging weighted leg lift is NOT for the abs, right? If you are doing flat flys+incline bench press that is more than enough for the anterior delts. Scratch the shoulder press. You won't be able to lift any high weight on it an...

I like the stiff legged deadlifts for the glutes and for your situation too because they'll keep the hamstrings very stong hand in hand with the glutes. The squats will then keep the quads strong hand in hand with the glutes also. To be more explosive all those work together.

I have heard great things about the parachute. Pros use it. There is also the harness with the rubber band thing. My coach used to hold the handle at the end of the long bungee cord attached to the harness while someone ran in the opposite direction.

If your like me and some others, you'll find decline a little bit easier than flat, so decline is usually a great opportunity to increase the weight, and have flat follow up the next workout session. Incline is different while decline and flat are very closely related. Just make sure you do incline ...

I do a little serratus anterior work, it's nice to prevent the winged scapula condition, and just helps (what I can describe as) core strength. Rotator cuff and rotary cuff exercises? GOD YES. They helped my bench a lot and healed my tendinitis in my shoulder and also for a lot of other people who'v...
