Re: The Belt

Belt and or neoprene waist wrap is good for going heavy. Particularly when you reach the point where your leg press is greatly outpacing your squat. Any heavy deadlifts for sure. Neoprene knee wraps may be a good idea as well. Straps are a similar issue. At first you need to stay away from them to g...

Re: Paleo - Good or bad?

Your statements about nutritionfacts.org are wrong. Baseless assertion. he doesn't perform the studies I know that. I am referring to the way he compiles and misrepresents them. In addition some of those studies do not use proper methodology. Nutrition is a field of science rife with problems. The ...

Re: Question regarding some advice

In some ways the isolation extreme never completely died. It's just about as silly. It can have a place in bodybuilding to a small extent though. It's never a substitute for the big primary lifts though. I think those sorts of exercise fads are harmful in a way as they hamper progress, which in turn...

Re: Paleo - Good or bad?

First issue, stop with the thread necromancy. Rarely is it acceptable to do that. I'm far more lenient about that than folks on other forums. But it's still not good form. Second issue is that you are making a lot of claims, stated as if they are axioms, with no evidence whatsoever. Thirdly, the sit...

Re: Question regarding some advice

Indeed. I hate all the core crap. A bosu ball is a good way to reduce the effectiveness of a workout and increase your chances of having an accident.

Re: another reason not to drink fizzy juice

All the natural/artificial dichotomy type stories are the result of mainstream misunderstanding. I don't even consider it a valid concept in most contexts. It usually relies on the naturalistic fallacy.

I think when people discover they are "gluten-sensitive", they are really just discovering that that they are healthier and feel better when eating less processed food. When you go gluten-free, you end up eating very little of the highly processed foods. It was those foods in general that were the p...

I wouldn't believe anything posted by Natural News. They are a major source of bull$h1t.

Re: DeadLift always gives Hip pains.

I don't do it anymore either, at least not heavy. I have a family history of back problems. I think there is some sort of genetic weakness in the spine. I had an injury a few years ago, and after that it is very easy to injure it again. I do actually do a high rep deadlift with light weight. It's no...

Re: advice on running shoes

If you go to a discount place and get leftover stock from the previous year, you can save more than 50%. I only buy mid to high end Nike. Mainly because any pair I pick up is very comfortable and ends up lasting for several years. I never pay more than $70. Although with inflation I expect my next p...

Re: music you like!

I made a change to it, so now https will also work. Initially I had edited your posts removing the "s". After the change I put the "s" back and they still work. Your last post left the "http" off, so I added that. There has to be some sort of protocol for it to work.

Re: music you like!

It seems like it only understands "http". When you have https or you leave that off altogether, it wasn't working. I think it's just a flaw in the bb code.

I'm still around. I always tend to be busy with various things. Always a lot going on. I've been playing Diablo 3 again as the expansion is coming out soon. As far as lifting I've just been maintaining what I have lately.
