this 'discussion' forum sucks. hundreds of views and 2 or 3 responses?

well you see, sometimes, someone asks a question, and a couple of people answer, and the answers are so SPOT ON, that the rest of us don't feel like we have to fill up the bandwidth with a bunch of repetitive posts or hot air.

And we skip all the blathering flame wars that go out on other forums.

It's sort of nice actually.

I agree about the hot air and flame oriented responses. But seriously, look at the ratio of responses to views in here. Surely there are more 'spot on' opinions from among that high a number of people reading any given post.

Oh well. I'd like to have another place to post questions other than BB.com. They definitely have their share of garbage responses, but it's worth wading through them to get to the relatively high number of valid ones.

Well, maybe it's just me, but seeing as this is more of a "general" based forum, rather than being specialized, i.e. Dragondoor, the Ironworks, or the Crossfit and bodybuilding forums, it seems to draw questions, it draws more general questions, how to start up, etc., etc. Personally, if I am reading a thread, and see there are replies along the lines of what I might say, I see no reason to duplicate it. just my opinion.

There does seem to be a little dogma on here which may discourage posting. Of course that is the nature of the topic. I also think a lot of people new to this read through for tips rather then to post. Some people don't care to give advice or opinions either. I am sure if you can't find what you are looking for you can always ask a question.

If you are just saying there isn't any off topic general chat, then yea I don't remember seeing any of that.

I think you're right about the off topic chat.I certainly don't see much of that. I know that over on the AOL board it's probably 60-70% chat. It also might be that due to the nature of this site, you won't see a lot. This site is primarily an encyclopedia of fitness, not specializing in any one thing. You want to find out anatomy, it's right here on the site. You want to find out the how's and why's of low volume, PL, OL, high volume, it's all right here I think people visit the site for information more than discussion. Just my thoughts

Ask your question. It will get answered thoroughly and completely. If you want opinions, you will get them. There is a quiet respect here. You are right, you won't see much ego being thrown around nor will you see a bunch of BS. I believe you will get solid advice based on research and experience. Register and give us your advice and opinions when you see that you have something to add. It sounds like you do a lot of research and have the potential to add good material to this forum.

Now, I'm new here, but I enjoy the fact that you don't have to sift through pages of personal opinions and endless discussion... I'd rather have questions answered by people who know the answers, or some form of educated opinion on the matter, and that seems to be the case here.
