Couple of new PBs recently:
Dead lift: 140 kgs x 1 (>2x bodyweight)
Back squat: 5x5x102.5 kgs (1.5 x bodyweight)
Pretty happy with these, given that I've been eating below maintenance recently (trying to get back into 32" waist pants).
Dead wasn't a true 1RM, I'd done 5x100 and 3x120 prior to that rep.

Did my first PL meet a couple weeks ago. Hit a PR on squat and bench (640 and 400). Never did 400 with a pause before. Then, made a rookie mistake on the deadlift. 605 flew up so I went strait for my current pr of 710 and no go.

And...
Did a strongman comp in Arizona the following weekend. Ended up 3rd in a tough group of guys. I was the top finishing amature, so I was pretty happy about that. Still need to improve on farmers and stones.

Personal preference. I have a bad left shoulder, and it bothers me to bench wide. So, most people's "close grip" bench, is my normal bench. If you notice, my left arm kind of lags behind my right in any pressing event. Not as noticable on bench, but if you look at my strongman vid, you'll see there is a significant difference between the right and left on the circus dumbell. It's a neural thing. I've had significant damage to my brachial plexus and my left trap does not fire correctly.hoosegow wrote:Hey Jason, no criticism here just curiosity. You look like you have a pretty narrow grip for bench. Is it the angle or do you just prefer a narrow grip?
Great work and from.
