I had an injury

Post by Ran » Mon Jun 21, 2010 8:01 am

Hi All,

Last month 25th I had a fall while trying to catch a speeding bus and twisted my left ankle viciously. X Ray revealed a hair line chip crack in my l/ankle and partially torn ligaments. I was in bed for last 3 weeks and ressumed office (after 26 days) from today. Walking around with a crutch. My leg is still in tight crepe bandage. The doctor says the ankle needs at least 6 weeks or more to heal completely. Then I will have to do rehab exercises till I am fit again to return to the gym. He does not gives me a fixed date.

I feel devastated. Iwas about to complete 6 months at the gym, SS already giving me nice noticable results. Now I don't know when I can return to gym.

Felt so low about the entire thing, thought would share it with you all.

I have a single DB at home. A 16 pounder. Thinking about starting with some sitting bicep curls and some tricep extensions. And may be some one arm overhead press. I dont think these would hurt the leg. Any other exercise you recommend with what miniscule means I have with me (the single DB)?

Let's see:

Seated DB Power Cleans (one-handed, obviously)
One-Arm Rows, but holding the end of the dumbbell for grip work.
Reverse Curls, for more forearm work

...and find a place to do chinups and pullups. Just don't go to failure. :)
