Nobody is 100% symmetrical. It's common for someone's dominant arm to be slightly larger than the other or for one foot to be bigger than the other, too. Many people have legs of unequal length, but in most cases there isn't enough of a disparity to require correction with orthotics - or even to be plainly visible.

Don't sweat the small stuff.

My left pec has slightly more muscle at the top to the middle compared to my right and my left biceps is probably a half inch bigger (it's insert's very slightly lower down my arm). Nobody's ever noticed even when I've asked. It's annoying because it feels like when I wear short sleeve tops my left arm sleeve sits higher than my right, very slightly. But it doesn't bother me too much because nobody else looks at your body as critically as yourself.

I found that when I lost some bodyfat, my pecs looked symmetrical due to the line going down the middle and in general all the muscular lines probably take the attention off the actual muscle as a whole.

Do an exercise that will develop both sides equally, such as bench press and rows.

I'd say using a barbell would cause your muscles to work more unequally. You can't tell which side is taking more of the weight. Even if you have unequal weight on the bar, you still end up pushing it level which shows that you can't really tell which side is pushing the most. Obviously it'll be pretty similar. I've loaded up the bar with -2.5kg or -5kg before on one side and haven't noticed until the end.

Start doing bench press with dumbbells and they will be more equal.

After that post, I managed to forget to add a 2.5kg weight on one side of the bar for deadlifts. Didn't even notice it til I was putting stuff away. Oh well at least it was my left side.
