I was looking to buy some whole wheat bread. I noticed that every variety that I the store offered contained high fructose corn syrup in the list of ingridients.
What's going on?

It's a cheap additive to provide the sugar needed for the yeast. Find Miltons or Arnold's. They make a whole grain bread without it.

Hi George. I've found Miltons multigrain at both Sam's and Costco. Arnold's is labeled Arnold's Healthy Multigrain. I usually take names with a grain of salt, but looked at the label and couldn't find any high fructose corn syrup or trans fatty acids. It's a pretty standard brand where I am, the mid Atlantic coas.
