Could be your shoes. Too much arch support may not allow proper muscular development of your feet. Spend more time barefoot or wearing a minimalist shoe. Run on the balls of your feet.

Yeah, I had sore arches for the past couple of months now. I threw away my old tenni's and got some minimalist shoes from Merrell. Shortly after wearing those shoes, I haven't had any arch problems at all.

The best shoes though. Love the wind on my feet that the top netting allows in and the soles have just enough rubber to protect against rocks and stuff. Not sure that I will ever go back to the big clunky type tenni's. No loss really, I was never fond of the great big sole'd tenni's.
