Exercise selection for hypertrophy

Post by 4l3x » Mon May 25, 2020 4:52 pm

Are exercises that include a stretch of the targeted muscles and have the sticking point in a more stretched position generally more effective for hypertrophy? I know there is some evidence that isometrics in a stretched position beat isometrics in a shortened position, but not sure what conclusions can be drawn for actual training.

I'm considering choosing exercises that have a ROM that includes a stretch and a sticking point near the stretch. Probably low risk but how likely do you think this is to be rewarding?

As an example: replace DB front raises with DB front raises lying on an incline bench.
