Thank you Stuward. I really like this forum, the best part is that you may be a beginner and ask any dumb question and you will always have people answering you patiently.

I came up in the '60s, and the big myth then was weight-lifting would make you "muscle bound." Don't lift weights if you play baseball; you'll get muscle bound and you won't be able to swing the bat.

Re steroids: if they are not good for you, why do them. Did Louis Cyr have steroids? The same can be said about aspartame. It's not good for you; don't eat it. (I swear, it seems as if there's a conspiracy to keep people freaky, with all the chemicals in food now.)

High reps, low reps. The beat goes on. I'd just say, work till your muscles say "No more." Then go home and eat like a pig.

My son takes steroids for his asthma and my buddies kid would have died a preme without them.

Doctors use them all the time.

There is nothing wrong with testosterone, it is very good for you.

(mega doses are a bit much, blah blah blah, but I'm just saying, they aren't evil for the right purposes.)

Be fair, those aren't the same kind of steroids. Anabolic steroid and corticosteroids aren't the same, or I'd be hyooge already after all the asthma meds I took while I was lifting.

I saw a guy on line at Shake Shack who was obviously on roids. He looked like the Thing from the Fantasic Four, except he wasn't orange.
