erector spinae exercises

Post by veb26 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 1:21 pm

I recently did an overhead squat assessment on an 11 yr old child. His heels came up and he had excessive forward body lean. I have him foam rolling his calves/soleus and then immediately stretching them. He is also doing the kneeling hip flexor stretch, abdominal stretch and proper side bends. I am trying to find exercises for an 11 yr old to do to strengthen his anterior tibialis, and erector spinae. I have heel raises and lying side hip abductors for his anterior tibialis and glutes. I want another AT exercise and one or two erector spinae exercises, other than any kind of deadlifting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bird Dog.This exercise not only tones the erector spinae but also builds strength throughout your core.Get down on the floor on your hands and knees...
Deadlift. For this exercise ,start out using 3-to 5-pound free weights.
